The short version

Your voice never leaves your Mac. Limon transcribes and cleans up your dictation entirely on-device. We never receive, store, or process your audio recordings, transcripts, or the text you dictate.

What stays on your Mac

• All audio you record while dictating
• All transcripts and cleaned-up text
• Your dictation history (stored locally, last 30 entries, deletable in-app)
• Your settings, vocabulary, and profile information

What we collect

Limon sends a small amount of non-content data to our servers to operate licensing and improve reliability:

• Anonymous install ID — a random identifier created on first launch. It is not linked to your name or email.
• Usage counts — the number of words you dictate (a number only — never the words themselves), used to enforce the Basic tier's weekly limit.
• License status — whether a license key is active on your device.
• Basic diagnostics — app version, macOS version, and hardware model, to help us debug compatibility issues.

We never send: your audio, your transcripts, your dictated text, the names of apps you type into, or your dictation history.

Payments

Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. Your payment details go to them, not us. See Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy.

Data deletion

Local data can be deleted at any time from within the app or by deleting the app and its Application Support folder. To request deletion of the anonymous server-side usage records, contact us with your install ID (shown in Settings).
